Intro About me What to expect Contact me
PLEASE NOTE: From October 1st 2019 I am taking an extended sabbatical and will not be seeing clients until further notice.

What to expect

I am a Person Centred / Existential counsellor/psychotherapist.

Person-Centred therapy was developed in the 1950s by Dr Carl Rogers, an American psychologist, as a non-directive therapy.

Rogers believed that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the context in which healing and growth can – and will – take place, if the client experiences the right core conditions: namely, the therapist’s genuineness, respect and empathy.

Existential therapy asks what it’s really like to be you, to be alive now, in your body, in your world. What are your values and beliefs?

Existentialism focuses on the basic concerns of life: awareness of our own mortality, anxiety, loneliness and confusion and balances them with: life, hope, relational contact and meaning.

I will not claim to be an expert in your life or offer advice. My aim is for you to be more fully yourself with the freedom to grow and the ability to change.

Fees

I offer an initial consultation of half an hour free of charge. At this meeting you can outline your reasons for seeking therapy and we can both get a sense of each other to help us decide if we want to commit to working together. We can also use this time to discuss the frequency of sessions that would suit you best and the possible duration of therapy.

My standard fee is £70 for a 50 minute session.

I also keep some daytime sessions at a lower cost of £50.

My fee for working with couples is £100 per couple for a one hour appointment. I work with same sex and heterosexual couples.

I take appointments from 9.30am to 7.30pm, Monday to Friday.

I also offer appointments by Skype or telephone although my preference is for us to meet in person.
